For our third edition of "Untold Stories", a series where we feature new remixes and interpretations of our back-catalogue, we invited a few from the new generation of progressive producers, all making their debut appearance on the label. Please welcome Anton MAKe, Milos Ilic, Dimuth K and Ivanshee.
Kicking the release off is Anton MAKe, currently based in Kazan (Russia), who picked up Michael A's "Endless Time" as his weapon on choice. Michael A, a name synonymous with modern progressive house, has been a consistent driving force and an inspiration to many producers for his style. His debut on Juicebox via "Endless Time", which originally featured remixes by Blusoul and rAin, was heavily supported by Nick Warren & many more, making it one of the top 5 selling tracks on the label. Having remixed Anton's tracks in the past for Genesis and Balkan Connection, it was time to return the favor. Anton himself has been having a fantastic few years with standout releases on Replug, Welcome Music & Asymmetric, marking his territory firmly. Anton takes inspiration from the Michael A's original mood on "Endless Time" and drives it into a more darker, deeper & funkier route with a solid groove comprising of rubber-basslines and simple yet effective drum programming along with harmonic additions to the main original riff.
Serbia's very own - Miloš Ilić takes on the reins to rework one of the biggest tracks of 2016 - SEQU3L's monumental "Timelapse". The buzz started when it was premiered at Woodstock Bloemendaal by Hernan Cattaneo and still continued to do so after it was released a few months later for quite a significant amount of time, resulting the release to hit #02 on Beatport's Top 100 Progressive House Releases. Now, 'Timelapse' gets another fresh reboot by Miloš, the first one being Australia's "Matter" earlier this year. Miloš' evolution in sound drove him into the more groovier & bouncier side of progressive house, with lots of techno-inspired grooves, a combination that he's gradually been perfecting, which lead to fantastic remixes and originals on Lowbit, PHW Elements, Soundteller & System Recordings, to name a few. His take on "Timelapse" pays true homage to the original, whilst switching up the groove into a more aggressive manner, with a few ominous & twisted overtones sprinkled in.
Next up is Sri Lanka's very own gemstone - Dimuth K, who's been on an absolute roll lately. His tracks have garnered incredible support worldwide, whether it's his remixes of Dynacom's "Demente" on Balkan Connection, Paul Thomas & White-Akre's "Goliath" on FSOE UV, Jonanas B's "Insanity" on Astrowave or his collaborative originals with Berni Turletti on "Kilimanjaro" & "To 15,257km Away" that got signed to the legendary "Hope Recordings". Harris, better known to his colleagues as Ziger, has also been on a massive high-streak with his recent appearances on Click, Movement, Outta Limits, BeatFreak, Eleatics, ICONYC and furthermore, his collaborative track "It's Not Funny" with Quivver for his "Rekonstruct" album. His "Razor" track marked his first association with Juicebox, originally released back in 2015 with remixes by Simos Tagias as well as Color Ray & Praveen Achary, he later came back to remix SEQU3L's "Still Moments in Everyday Life". Now, to continue that momentum for both artists, Dimuth chose to add his magic to Ziger's "Razor" with a bouncy groove aimed straight for the dance floor & no shortage of beautiful melodic moments for the soul.
The final outing comes from Belarusian - Ivan Shpakovskiy, aka Ivanshee. Known for his club-friendly grooves, especially with addictive & creative basslines, Ivanshee's released some of his memorable music on JOOF Aura, Dear Deer, Just Movement, Superordinate & Saturate Audio as well as running his own imprint - Eternal Beats, making him been a firm-favourite for many, and more-so the underground DJs looking for the hidden treasures. For his feature on Juicebox Music, he's picked up "Underwater" by Argentina's very own - Diyo. Originally released with a remix by Tommi Oskari & Blusoul, Diyo's "Underwater" found it's way to many DJs crates, much like his other tracks, namely his incredible remixes of Tone Depth's "Rumblefish" on John Digweed's Bedrock and Future-E's "Kitaro" on Tulipa. Ivanshee carries that weight and uses it to power his remix of "Underwater", aiming straight for the jugular with an aggressive approach from start to finish, thanks to a rumbling & rolling low-end, borderline psychedelic influences with the effects and original elements soaring high above the surface.
